Rising energy costs have had a huge financial impact on East Bay businesses. In response, KEMA Services, Inc. developed the Business Energy Solutions Team (BEST) Program to help small to medium sized business owners lower energy costs and offset the high cost of energy efficiency upgrades. The BEST Program offers free facility energy audits and incentives for energy efficient lighting retrofits, select refrigeration equipment, controls, and other proven technologies.
The BEST Program offers incentive levels which typically cover on average 75% of the project cost. In some cases, the program pays 100% of the cost of the project. This allows for short payback periods and low measure installation costs for customers. Contractors also benefit from these incentive levels because the Program effectively sells itself, allowing Contractors to minimize marketing efforts and focus on working directly with participating customers.
Small businesses can typically save as much money and prevent as much pollution, per square foot, as large organizations. (Source: EPA)

This program is funded by California utility customers and is administered by PG&E under the auspices of the California Pacific Utilities Commision (CPUC).
